play in the rear hub

    just got my sram S30's and it seems the rear hub is loose. the wheel has a little play in it and rocks from side to say a fraction. any ideas ? im a real novice here

    Is the wheel in the bike?

    When you apply the quick release clamp it does apply some pressure on the hub, sometimes the hub is left just a little loose so when the QR clamp is applied the slack is taken up....?

    tried tightening the skewer but still nothing

    In the frame?

    Where did you buy it?

    If a shop, I'd take it back and say "WTF"...?

    Maybe someone who knows more will chime in :D

    Thanks Stu. I tried my self but couldnt do it so i got the guy at cycly to do it . All sorted now thanks. Rode 60km today and wheels are great. My ride improved. New best time.

    Wheels were cheap man. 47,000 with postage fq
